OUR STORY AND PURPOSE

Padder Tennis New Zealand Inc. is a nationally-operating not-for-profit incorporated society and the governing body for padder tennis in New Zealand.

OUR STORY

Back in time, New Zealand schools were the home of kids running around playing bull rush, four square and padder tennis. Fast forward to 2010, a group of tennis professionals then gathered to arrange a mini tennis tournament in Auckland to bring it back to life. Having run successfully, this spurred a movement to bring padder tennis back to the community. From this, we formed the first padder tennis incorporated society in New Zealand.

OUR PURPOSE AND VISION

Our purpose is to provide means for the public to find enjoyment, reward, social inclusion and to better their health through padder tennis. We also aim to further enable, increase, enhance and support the participation, involvement, engagement and performance in padder tennis by the public. Our vision is to have communities more active physically and socially with kids off couches, away from their digital devices, and adults participating more in sporting activities.
